Madelyn Holmes is the author of Forgotten Migrants: Foreign Workers in Switzerland before World War I; Lives of Women Public Schoolteachers: Scenes from American Educational History; American Women Conservationists; and Students and Teachers of the New China. She lives in Burlington, Vermont.
