The destinies of two cousins, Angelique and Elizabeth, are turned upside down by arranged marriages. They were keen to highlight the lives of those French provincials of the time, who either stayed at home or moved across the Atlantic in the hope of a better life.

Diplômées en Sciences Humaines et Sociales, et natives du Sud Est de la France, Lydia et Béatrice sont deux amies passionnées d’histoire, particulièrement celle du début du XIX° siècle, en France et aux Etats Unis. Elles ont eu à coeur de mettre en avant la vie de ces français de province de l'époque, qui, au sein de leur terroir ou partis outre atlantique, avaient l'espoir d'une vie meilleure.
