Résumé
--
Man is not that creature, hungering for freedom, ready to make all sacrifices to break down the walls of his prison. On the contrary, although our Western culture sees humans as creatures in constant search of liberty, they are in reality more often passive beings, living under someone’s thumb or a political power. If we look more closely, we cannot fail to observe the fascination exerted by ‘possessors’ of power or that certain models, by their seduction, inspire astonishing behavioural identification, clear proof of how much the human being craves reassuring and protective identity constructions of all types. This essay explores the enigma of domination and submission, and describes political power whose characteristic is the absence of grounds. Under different pressures, we collectively invent conceptual edifices upon which powers can build: the first being ‘mimesis’ and the second, ‘contract’. Today, power belongs to the ‘expert’ certain see therein the dawn of a reign of perversion. The first two models were overthrown by Freudian psychoanalysis it must continue its work of calling into question.
