Résumé
--
Ever since Vatican II, the Word of God has enjoyed an ever-increasing presence in Christian life. But in order to fully access this Word, we need the enlightenment of masters. Saint Augustine, theologian and Scriptural commentator, is one of the most eminent we couldn’t ask for a better guide to show us how to meditate on the Scriptures, on the ‘Lectio divina’. Under the guidance of this master, we can study the Gospel According to Saint Matthew via a tripartite process, consisting of chapters 1-7, 8-18 and 19-28, each corresponding to one volume. And each time, a commentary by Saint Augustine, explained by the author, sheds light on a key passage from the Gospel, in order to orient the readers towards its spiritual meaning and encourage them to internalize its message and share it with others. A reference work for meditation, for the ‘Lectio’ itself and preparing weekday and Sunday liturgical celebrations.
