Résumé

The year 1910 marks the first time the Tour de France, only seven years young, will include a section through the high mountain passes of the Pyrenees. The weather is awful. The routes are perilous. The rules are still a work in progress. Nutrition? Safety? These racers didn't even have derailleurs. They barely had gears. In a genuinely superhuman feat of determination and endurance they rode through literal blood, sweat, mud, snow, starvation, tears, and utter despair to make the Tour de France what it is today: a contest of colossi, a clash of titans, a tour... of giants.

  • Debon Nicolas (auteur, Illustré par)

    Nicolas Debon was born in 1968 in Lorraine, France. He studied at the Fine Arts School of Nancy before doing a series of jobs in the field of cultural administration. In 1993, he moved to Canada for 10 years and became a stained glass designer. During this decade, he developed an interest for the illustration of children's books. His early work was released by a North American publisher and quickly became successful. He won the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award in 2007, one of the most prestigious prizes in children's literature. Debon is now back in Paris, where he focuses on children's illustration and comics. Since 2009, he has released 3 comics with Dargaud. The most recent of which is "L'Essai" (Dargaud, 2015; Europe Comics, 2020). Debon is admired for the extreme sensitivity in his work and his impressive mastery of drawing and colors.
