Résumé
Jack had been looking forward to a weekend getaway in Krakow with his girlfriend, Antoinette. Fine dining, Christmas markets, romance in a swanky hotel—life can be sweet sometimes. But when your love is a professional assassin, things can also quickly go sour. For Antoinette, it was a working holiday: she gets her man, a nasty billionaire at the head of a secret organization, but loses Jack in the process. There's no time for tears—at least not yet—as the billionaire's murder is linked to the death of an American dog in Cairo, an art gallery in San Diego, and a perverse secret society in London. Animals may have achieved the same heights of intelligence as humans, but they also share in their capacity for cruelty—unless Jack and Antoinette have their say.

Stephen Desberg se destinait en premier lieu à la musique, mais les hasards des rencontres lui ont permis de mettre un pied dans la bande dessinée, via de courtes histoires pour le journal « Tintin » et des séries tout public chez « Spirou » parmi lesquelles « Billy The Cat ». Cette dernière connaîtra d'ailleurs une adaptation en dessin animé, réalisée avec Colman. Se prenant au jeu, il scénarise ensuite de somptueux one shot avec le regretté Will. Ces derniers amorcent une transition vers davantage de réalisme, registre dont Desberg va devenir l'un des grands. Né à Bruxelles d'un père américain, il a toujours suivi avec attention l'actualité de son « autre pays », et a beaucoup réfléchi à la nature profonde des États-Unis. De ces réflexions sont nées des séries telles que « I.R.$. », « Tosca », « Black OP», « Rafales » ou « Sherman ». Féru d'Histoire, il délaisse volontiers le contemporain pour des siècles plus anciens, allant de la Rome antique de « Cassio » au Far-West de « L'Étoile du Désert », en passant par l'Italie du dix-huitième siècle avec « Le Scorpion ». Mais, toutes ses séries sont liées par cette volonté d'interroger la nature de l'homme, son besoin de croire, et sa capacité à utiliser le mythe (qu'il soit historique ou religieux) en tant qu'outil politique. Toujours proactif, il essaie également de faire évoluer le mode de conception des BD franco-belges en créant des séries parallèles à "I.R.$." avec les projets « All Watcher », « I.R.$. Henri Reculé was born in 1970 in his mother's native country of Chile, which he later left for Belgium, his father's homeland, at the age of 14. He took illustration classes there at the Saint-Luc Institute in Liège, the result of which was a full album, "Le Grand Veneur," created with Jean-Luc Sala as a final study project. This collaboration won them a competition held by Le Lombard, which allowed the pair to publish "La Légende de Kynan" (Le Lombard, 1993), their first professional album. This was the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between Reculé and the publisher, which was solidified with the five-volume series "Castel Armer," an epic for which Reculé took charge of both the art and script. He then met Stephen Desberg, with whom he would go on to publish a number of series, beginning with the two-part "Le Crépuscule des Anges" (Casterman), and then "Les Immortels" (Glénat). The pair of them continued their collaboration with Le Lombard with the historical thriller "Cassio" (2007; Europe Comics in English 2018), the adaptation "Le Dernier livre de la jungle" ("The Last Jungle Book," Europe Comics 2016), and the espionage adventure series "Jack Wolfgang" (2017, Europe Comics in English 2018).
