                        Josephine Tey est née en 1896 en Écosse. Elle est l'auteur de nombreux romans policiers, notamment           La Fille du temps          , le plus célèbre et le plus controversé du fait de ses prises de position historiques. Dramaturge reconnue, elle a écrit une douzaine de pièces sous le pseudonyme de Gordon Daviot, dont           Richard of Bordeaux          , qui connut un véritable succès.
