•Findley was ahead of his time in his worry about issues we see today: the rise of fascism, climate change and related environmental issues (species loss in the context of global warming, pollution of oceans), censorship and “fake news”, the rights of women and LGBTQ people. 
•Findley was obsessed with a possible WWIII and warned against anti-democratic movements and the escalation of violence. •First full biography of Timothy Findley. Author had access to and extensive use of his private journals, letters, diaries, photographs and tape recordings 
•Findley was part of the founding season of The Stratford Festival (1953), involved in the early days of CBC, and a founder of the Writers’ Union of Canada
