Écrivain écossais, Robert Louis Stevenson est né à Edimbourg (Écosse) le 13 novembre 1850, mort le le 3 décembre 1894 à Vailima (Îles Samoa). Il est l'auteur des célèbres L'ïle au trésor, L'Étrange Cas du Dr. Jekyll et de Mr. Hyde et Voyage avec un âne dans les Cévennes.
