Pracował między innymi jako gazeciarz, marynarz, kłusownik i poszukiwacz złota. Był reporterem wojennym podczas konfliktu rosyjsko-japońskiego z 1905 roku, relacjonował także wojnę domową w Meksyku. W twórczości czerpał z przeżyć autobiograficznych, poruszał tematy społeczne i relacje człowieka z naturą. Wśród najpopularniejszych utworów Londona można wymienić, takie jak: "Biały Kieł", "Wilk morski", "Zew krwi" czy "Meksykanin".

John Griffith Chaney, dit Jack London, est né en 1876 à San Francisco et connaît une enfance misérable qui le mène, dès quinze ans, à une vie derrance. Marin, blanchisseur, ouvrier dans une conserverie de saumon, pilleur dhuîtres, chasseur de phoques avant de devenir vagabond et de connaître la prison, il accumule les expériences et adhère au Socialist Labor Party en avril 1896. La ruée vers lor du Klondike en 1897 le compte parmi les aventuriers, mais il sera rapatrié atteint du scorbut sans avoir fait fortune. Cest pourtant dans le Grand Nord canadien quil trouve ses premières sources dinspiration et que, la mémoire pleine de souvenirs épiques, il se lance dans lécriture en rédigeant des nouvelles pour les grands magazines. Le Fils du Loup, son premier recueil de nouvelles, paraît en 1900. Le véritable succès arrive pourtant avec LAppel sauvage (aussi appelé LAppel de la forêt) en 1903. Croc-Blanc sort en 1905 et sera de nouveau un énorme succès dédition. Repris par sa soif daventures, désormais financièrement à laise, Jack London fait construire un bateau ultramoderne, le Snark, et entreprend à son bord un voyage autour du monde. Malade, obligé de sarrêter en Australie en 1908, il rentre en Amérique sans avoir réalisé son projet et soccupe alors de son ranch tout en continuant à militer. Atteint de maladies multiples, buvant trop, sa santé déclinant, il séjourne plusieurs mois à Hawaii et décède le 22 novembre 1916 à lâge de quarante ans.

I began this journey a few years ago as a medium. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that would lead me to be able to hear G-D, Jesus and some Arch Angels. I started getting messages that I needed to go out on the beach at sunrise, and to bring my tablet, more commonly known as a notebook. I would walk up and down the beach thinking I would see something like the burning bush, but that didnt happen. It couldnt be as simple as that. I needed to sit down with my tablet and start writing what I heard. I soon realized I was going to have to work hard for this. Almost every morning I would sit down either at the beach or later in my house, to listen to the great spirits tell me their wisdom. It would take a full year to put together this book.
