    Marcel Barang, qui vit en Thaïlande depuis plus de trente ans, s'est imposé depuis les années 1990 comme le traducteur littéraire du thaï tant vers le français que vers l'anglais. Il a fait connaître des romanciers thaïlandais de premier plan tels que Saneh Sangsuk, Chart Korbjitti et Nikom Rayawa. Auteur en 1994 d'une anthologie qui fait autorité, The 20 Best Novels of Thailand, il a traduit ces romans en anglais ainsi qu'une douzaine d'autres de jeunes auteurs (Arunwadi Arunmart, Siriworn Kaewkan, Kanokpong Songsomphan). Sa production est disponible sous forme d'e-books sur son site ainsi qu'à immateriel.fr.
