This novel provides the layperson with an excellent breakdown of a science that's not very well known, using it to model a wide range of everyday situations. Thanks to its fun approach, it's great for both Sudoku and logic puzzle lovers and for math and science students and teachers. Bad guys take note : Manori is watching, and he's quick on the draw !

Un auteur inspiré et inspirant !Né à Sierre (Suisse), titulaire d’un doctorat ès sciences, Alain Hertz s’est établi au Canada en 2001, où il enseigne les mathématiques à Polytechnique Montréal. Sa passion pour les énigmes l’a certes conduit à sa carrière de professeur et de chercheur, mais aussi à se lancer dans l’écriture de Bell et la Bête dans lequel le héros, l’inspecteur Maurice Manori, a pour seules armes un bloc-notes et un crayon, car il dessine des croquis qui représentent les processus complexes de raisonnement produits par son cerveau. Cet alter ego à la logique implacable est attentif au moindre détail, ce qui lui permet de démasquer des coupables persuadés d’avoir commis le crime parfait.
